Very disappointing as I was used to seeing the Harry Potter sleeves with a lot of drawings. The 18 stories are listed at the back of the cd box and are the same stories that appeared in the book. However, the order of play in the CDs does not coincide with the order in this list.
There is no list of the particular stories contained in each CD. Upon listening to the entire collection, I found out that the order of the stories is different from the book. I have always liked Agatha Christie's books and this one did not fail to live up to her standards. The greatest thing about the books are that they don't contain vulgar language and are not filled with sex. I like to read a mystery without anything else standing in the way of the enjoyment of the book. One person found this helpful. I have the audio book and it was great.
- Over the Edge of the World: Magellans Terrifying Circumnavigation of the Globe;
- The First Black Boxing Champions: Essays on Fighters of the 1800s to the 1920s!
- Poirot's Early Cases (Hercule Poirot, #38);
- Nancy Drew 41: The Clue of the Whistling Bagpipes.
- The SuperNES Book.
I like the stories with their twists and clever solutions and I enjoyed one of the narrators. One was great, he used his voice to bring the characters to life and the other was just reading a book, he made no effort to differentiate the character, he just read what was on the page. The thing I liked about the stories is that they expanded how the reader saw Poirot's world by showing him interacting with "friends" which show him in a different light.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it for persons who just have a few minutes and want to read a story that presents a puzzle. I love Agatha Christie, but Poirot is my favorite character. I've seen all the movies, TV series and read all the books. I wish I had never read or seen them, just so that I could experience them again for the first time!
Cannot recommend enough for those who like this era of British mysteries. Some of these cases have been filmed, but there were alterations in the film version. Frankly, I prefer the written version of the story. Two of them, I think I had never see. Hastings was portrayed more realistically than in the television versions. All in all, this is quite a nice collection.
