I knew how the book would end, but it still hurt me to read about the phone call that Zweibel received about Gilda's death. She was taken way too soon, but she continues to live Just the name Gilda Radner brings a smile to my face as did most of the dialogue between Gilda and Alan in this book.
She was taken way too soon, but she continues to live on through our memories and books like Bunny, Bunny a reference to a childhood superstition to protect her from the shadows in the night. I adored the playfulness she could bring to any scene and Zweibel's writing brings that to life on each page.

Absolutely one of my favorite books. Haven't read it in probably close to two decades and it still is beautiful and heartbreaking. Read it in one day. Which is a reminder that I should not let so much time go by before I read it again. Mar 20, Kasey rated it it was amazing.

Mar 04, Kelly rated it it was amazing Shelves: own. The kind of friendship one dreams of having with someone so special. I read the entire book in just a few hours. This is because the book consists of doodles and funny conversations between the author and Gilda so it didn't take up much page space. It is a nice tribute to the author's great friend.
How these two heterosexuals of the opposite sexes didn't have a romance is beyond me. Aren't people supposed to marry their best friends when blessed with this situation? Nov 14, Vicki Cole rated it it was amazing. You would have thought I'd have known better. The place Gilda holds in my heart, and still to this day steals moments from every day when lost in thought a memory of a sly grin or a smooth yet awkward movement warms me just a bit.
Alan Zweibel through his love and closeness to Gilda gives us back just a little bit of what we have all lost. May 09, Crystal Raymond-Edwards rated it it was amazing. This script made me want to call up all my old game-writing partners, tell them I am sorry for being an ass all those years ago, then hang up on them And that would mean things are cool again. His dialogue flows, and as you read you may be able to hear Gilda's voice, and his if you've heard him speak. I know I did.

I love Gilda. You get some insight into her, but the play kind of falls flat with regard to illuminating her inner life I kind of love that Alan Tudyk was in the original cast.

They shot the eye out or removed the eye of a large really good natured stray at the port, hobbled another cat at the port, shooting it with energy weaponry, and for years routinely killed and left dead animals in my path.
This has continued despite my calls to the police, the FBI, Congress, and my petitions in court. In the usual case, it appears that the right goes to a judicial crony for a ruling permitting them to harm animals to retaliate against me for my free speech. The federal government, the right wing in particular, interfered with my personal life and economic options for 3 decades, so their solution to my noting it is to kill animals.
Makes perfect sense right? Invariably their lies are exposed and the wrongfulness of the harm is clear to everyone, though not until the animals have been maimed or killed.
